DAY 1 Vancouver
Pick up your rental car and proceed to your Vancouver hotel. The day is yours to discover Vancouver. Canada's third-largest metropolitan centre, Vancouver is a busy port with a multi-cultural ambiance. The spectacular setting invites you outdoors; explore the restaurants, shopping, galleries and museums, nightlife, entertainment and more.
DAY 2 Seattle
Today you'll drive from Vancouver to Seattle. Enroute, stop at the village of Steveston (just west of Vancouver) to visit the Gulf of Georgia Cannery National Historic Site. Next, continue southward across the Canada/U.S. border to the city of Seattle. Visit the Space Needle for a vista of the city; wander the bookstores, boutiques and cafes of Pioneer Square, take a tour of the under-ground city or sample the fares of Pike Place Market.
DAY 3 Seattle
Your day is at leisure for more exploring the city of Seattle on your own. You may wish to visit the Tillicum Village, take a walking tour of the downtown area or try a scheduled city sightseeing tour in a double-decker bus to see the area from a unique perspective. (Suggested options are not included in the package).
DAY 4 Victoria
Today proceed to the Washington State Ferry terminal and board a ferry for a short cruise across Puget Sound to Bremerton (fare not included). Upon arrival, you will drive north to Port Angeles and board Black Ball Ferries bound for Victoria (fare not included). Crossing time is approximately 1 hour 40 minutes and you will arrive in Victoria's Inner Harbour. During your ferry ride through the Juan De Fuca Strait, you may see whales or eagles or other marine wildlife.
DAY 5 Victoria
A full day to discover the delights of Victoria, an intimate city said to be "more British than Britain," complete with double-decker buses and red phone booths. The pretty Inner Harbour is a great place to stroll. Historic Site admissions are included.
DAY 6 Tofino
Travel to Tofino on the west coast of Vancouver Island along the scenic Island Highway. Stop to visit renowned Butchart Gardens with impressive floral displays. Stroll among giant cedar and fir trees in Cathedral Grove, and don't forget the Maclean Mill National Historic Site in Port Alberni.
DAY 7 Tofino
Discover Pacific Rim National Park Reserve (park pass included). This park includes three "units" - the West Coast Trail, a wilderness hike over 70 km long; the Broken Group Islands, accessible only by boats; and Long Beach, where you can enjoy woodland and beach hiking, explore tidepools,or go whale watching.
DAY 8 Tofino
Another day to visit Pacific Rim and area. The town of Tofino, near the northern end of the park, is known as an artists' haven with plenty of restaurants, shops and galleries. A short drive to the south is Ucluelet, an authentic fishing village with its own fair share of boutiques and cafes.
DAY 9 Vancouver
Return to the east side of Vancouver Island. At Nanaimo, you'll board a BC Ferry bound for either Horsehoe Bay (North Vancouver) or Tsawwassen (south of Vancouver). (ferry fares not included).Your vacation concludes when you return your rental vehicle in Vancouver.
