The Canada Day parade and fireworks on July 1 are an annual tradition along with dance, music, and opera at The Banff Summer Arts Festival. In the fall, tempt your taste buds at the culinary festival or rub elbows with the international mountaineering community at the Banff Mountain Film and Book Festivals.
Three weeks of entertaining events kick off the annual Winterstart Festival, with World Cup ski racing, the Santa Claus Parade and January’s Ice Magic, where ice carvers transform frozen blocks of ice into works of art in Lake Louise!

Heavy Metal Rail Jam - 2 Dec 09:00
Skiers and snowboarders are invited out to shake off the summer cobwebs at Lake Louise Mountain Resort’s fifth annual Heavy Metal Rail Jam. Competitors will be judged in each category for their ability, style and talent on a variety of rail features in the early season TELUS Park.

The NorthWest Mutual Funds Coupe Nor-Am Cup is the highest-level ski racing series in North America. This series showcases Canadian national development, US national development, Provincial and International athletes competing for the Coupe Nor-Am Cup title. The series has great significance for North-American athletes as the two first place athletes in each discipline receive a spot on the World Cup circuit for the following season. The first stop for this year NorthWest Mutual Funds Coupe Nor-Am Cup will be in Lake Louise, Alberta. Come and cheer on you’re Canadian Athletes.
Ice Majic Festival - 25 Jan - 27 Jan
Enjoy Lake Louise during the Ice Magic weekend and witness the meticulous work the carvers put into their elaborate designs. Prize-winning sculptures are selected by a panel of NICA-certified ice carving judges and will be announced at the awards ceremony to be held at The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise on Sunday afternoon.
